GHOST IN THE SHELL: SAC_2045

“Ghost in the Shell” made its first foray into full 3DCG animation with a collaboration between Kenji Kamiyama from the “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex” series and Shinji Aramaki from the “Appleseed” series as co-directors. Character design was handled by Russian illustrator Ilya Kuvshinov who created designs tailored for 3DCG. Season 1 premiered in 2020, followed by Season 2 in 2022, exclusively on Netflix. A compilation film of Season 1 titled “Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Sustainable War” was released in 2021, and was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Michihito Fujii, known for “The Journalist” and “Yakuza and the Family.”
