Atsuko Tanaka, who played Motoko Kusanagi, passed away

Atsuko Tanaka, who played the role of Motoko Kusanagi, the main character in the “Ghost in the Shell” anime series, has passed away.

Atsuko Tanaka played the one and only character “Major” in many “Ghost in the Shell” series since “Ghost in the Shell” released in 1995, including “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.”

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to her and pray for her soul rest in peace.
