“Ghost in the Shell” Media Project MESSED MESH AMBITIONS, Now Available as a Book Starting Today, Friday, April 11!
The ongoing series MESSED MESH AMBITIONS, published on the official global website of The Ghost in the Shell, is now being released in book form. Commonly known as M.M.A., this project is a media initiative that explores and discusses various contemporary issues while actively carrying forward the pioneering questions posed by the The Ghost in the Shell series.
Each edition focuses on a single theme, featuring special issues that delve into the subject in collaboration with domestic and international partners who bring unique insights and expertise. Together, they explore the implications and direction of each topic.
This book compiles selected essays, interviews, dialogues, and reflections published (and some planned to be published) on The Ghost in the Shell MESSED MESH AMBITIONS section of the official global website between October 2023 and April 2025. The result is a single, comprehensive volume of over 600 pages.
Additionally, Shirow Masamune, the original creator of The Ghost in the Shell, contributes his own musings, offering unique perspectives on modern science and technology. The result is a richly layered and intellectually dense book, very much in the spirit of The Ghost in the Shell.
