A Night Museum–style special event featuring music, digital art, and talk sessions has been confirmed at the exhibition venue of “Ghost in the Shell The Exhibition”

Ghost in the Shell The Exhibition Production Committee—comprising Kodansha Ltd., Mori Building Co., Ltd., KDDI Corporation, Production I.G, Inc., PARCO Co., Ltd., and Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc.—will present two special event series as part of the “Ghost in the Shell The Exhibition,” which will be held from Friday, January 30 to Sunday, April 5, 2026, at TOKYO NODE, the information dissemination hub at Toranomon Hills.
The talk session series “DIALOGUE of Ghost and the Shell” and the music event series “REFLEX of Ghost and the Shell” will take place during the exhibition period in the on-site exhibition space GALLERY A “NODE” (Nexus of Thought).
“DIALOGUE of Ghost and the Shell” is a talk session series that brings together members of the Ghost in the Shell creative team along with artists, cultural figures, researchers, and creators from diverse fields who deeply resonate with the work. Through dialogue that transcends genres, these speakers will delve into the core of the series.
Rather than merely offering commentary on the work or organizing its historical background, the sessions use the words and perspectives of each participant as clues to illuminate, from multiple angles and in three dimensions, the question of what the “ghost” at the heart of Ghost in the Shell truly is. By approaching the work through layered perspectives—story, philosophy, technology, the body, and society—the series creates a space where multiple interpretations can coexist.
“REFLEX of Ghost and the Shell” is a weekend-only nighttime museum event series that offers an audiovisual immersion into the world of Ghost in the Shell. GALLERY A will be transformed into a music event venue, while visitors can simultaneously enjoy original artwork experiences in GALLERY B and merchandise in GALLERY C, creating a night-museum-style experience that spans the entire exhibition space.
Centered on the weekly event “REFLEX,” this night museum series will also feature special events that reinterpret the world of Ghost in the Shell from a variety of perspectives.
Planned programs include “DEEP DIVE,” a music event project where distinctive artists express themselves through live performances, DJ sets, and VR content; a collaborative event with MUTEK, the festival celebrating electronic music and digital art; and the music bar “FIRN,” an experiential event set in a fictional bar from the series, where music, visuals, talk sessions, and performances allow visitors to relive the world of the work.
We invite you to look forward to a new form of immersion into the universe of Ghost in the Shell, distinct from the daytime exhibition experience.
Additional speakers and participants will be announced on an ongoing basis. For the latest updates, please check the official website and official social media channels.

<Special Event 1: DEEP DIVE>
First serialized in 1989 by manga artist Masamune Shirow, the science fiction work Ghost in the Shell has expanded into a wide range of productions—including the animated film “Ghost in the Shell (1995)” directed by Mamoru Oshii, as well as multiple animated series and a Hollywood live-action film. As a cyberpunk masterpiece Japan can proudly claim, the franchise has continued to astonish and inspire audiences around the world.
To commemorate the opening of the “Ghost in the Shell The Exhibition,” it has now been decided that “DEEP DIVE / Ghost in the Shell in TOKYO NODE,” an event where the worldview of the GHOST IN THE SHELL series—still regarded as a monumental pillar of science fiction with a devoted global following—synchronizes with music, will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at TOKYO NODE.
“DEEP DIVE” is a music event project in which artists with distinctive creative identities reinterpret the world of GHOST IN THE SHELL and present it through live performances, DJ sets, and VR content. Since its first edition in 2024, the event has been widely praised for its immersive experience, and this upcoming edition at TOKYO NODE is sure to awaken the senses not only of fans of the series and music lovers, but of all attendees. In conjunction with the announcement of the event, the official event logo will also be unveiled.
Details regarding participating artists and ticket information will be announced at a later date, so please stay tuned for further updates. Additional information about the event will be released on an ongoing basis via the official Ghost in the Shell X (formerly Twitter) account and website.

What Is DEEP DIVE?
“DEEP DIVE – GHOST IN THE SHELL -” was launched as an event project synchronizing the world of GHOST IN THE SHELL with music, in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the original manga’s serialization by Shirow Masamune.
In May 2024, a live event titled “DEEP DIVE online in sync with GHOST IN THE SHELL” was held at Zepp Shinjuku (TOKYO). Inspired artists such as Derrick May and Takkyu Ishino performed, tickets sold out instantly, and the VR content experience drew lines with waiting times of up to four hours—earning overwhelming acclaim.
In June 2025, to commemorate “The World of Masamune Shirow Exhibition,” a new project titled “DEEP DIVE: echo – GHOST IN THE SHELL -” was held at Shibuya PARCO. Artists including JUBEE, Pasokon Ongaku Club, Skaai, and Mari Sakurai participated, reinterpreting the work’s universe through live performances, DJ sets, and VR content. VJ visuals and the sale of exclusive apparel further enhanced the experience.
Additionally, under the title “DEEP DIVE: online – GHOST IN THE SHELL -,” live performance footage by the experimental soul band WONK was streamed on the official Ghost in the Shell YouTube channel. By delivering the immersive experience of physical events online and pursuing multifaceted collaborations with artists, the project continues to explore new ways of expressing the overarching worldview of the series.
<Special Event 2: MUSIC BAR “FIRN”>
As part of the night museum events within the “Ghost in the Shell The Exhibition,” we will present MUSIC BAR “FIRN,” an immersive event that recreates a fictional bar appearing in the series through music, visuals, and live performance.
MUSIC BAR “FIRN” is a special event in which a section of the exhibition gallery is transformed into the fictional bar FIRN. Musicians, visual artists, and actors active both in Japan and internationally come together to express the world of Ghost in the Shell as a fully realized spatial experience.
The event begins with an opening act (record set) by Kenji Kawai, composer of the music for GHOST IN THE SHELL and Innocence. The program then weaves together full-length original tracks from the anime with DJ sets by emerging DJs and track makers, visual productions incorporating footage from past animated works, and performances by actors wearing costumes designed by Ilya Kuvshinov, delivering a deeply immersive experience.
Additional participating artists will be announced at a later date, so please look forward to further updates. Event-related information will be shared on an ongoing basis via the official Ghost in the Shell Exhibition X account and website.
