A Cyberpunk Sci-Fi Masterpiece Returns — New TV Anime “THE GHOST IN THE SHELL” Joins Kodansha’s Booth at Anime Expo 2025 in the U.S.!
Since its debut in 1989 as a manga by Shirow Masamune in Young Magazine Kaizokuban (published by Kodansha), the GHOST IN THE SHELL franchise has continued to captivate audiences worldwide through a wide range of works—including Mamoru Oshii’s iconic 1995 animated film, various anime adaptations, and even a Hollywood live-action movie.
Now, the highly anticipated new TV anime “THE GHOST IN THE SHELL,” scheduled to air in 2026, has been confirmed to participate in Anime Expo 2025, the largest anime convention in North America.
This special exhibition is part of a collaborative booth featuring the GHOST IN THE SHELL series and the popular manga Gachiakuta. Visitors will be immersed in the unique world of the original manga and its successive adaptations through a variety of visuals, installations, and exhibits.
A dedicated corner will spotlight the upcoming anime THE GHOST IN THE SHELL, offering an exclusive early look at the highlights of the new series.
In addition, the booth will feature numerous interactive experiences for attendees to enjoy, including life-size character panels for photo ops, a social media-linked capsule machine, and the massive crane game “Drop the Claw.”
Anime Expo 2025 will be held from Thursday, July 3 to Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the Los Angeles Convention Center (1201 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015, USA). On Thursday, July 3, a special panel event will take place, featuring a talk session with the producers of the new anime.
