“GHOST IN THE SHELL THE GHOST IN THE SHELL” Episode 2 Synopsis, Scene Stills, and Special Episode Visual Revealed!

Since Shirow Masamune first published the original manga in Young Magazine Zōkan: Kaizokuban (Kodansha) in 1989, the Ghost in the Shell series has continued to surprise and inspire the world. The franchise has expanded into various adaptations, starting with the landmark 1995 film GHOST IN THE SHELL directed by Mamoru Oshii, and encompassing later animations as well as a live-action Hollywood movie.

 

The latest TV anime series, GHOST IN THE SHELL THE GHOST IN THE SHELL, is currently broadcasting every Tuesday at 11:00 PM on the Kantei/Fuji TV national network during the “Hianibar!!” programming block. It is also available for streaming sequentially on Prime Video and other platforms.

 

Ahead of the upcoming premiere on Tuesday, July 14, which includes the earliest unlimited streaming access on Prime Video, the synopsis, scene stills, and episode visual for Episode 2 have now been released.

 

Episode 2: “SUPER SPARTAN ii + JUNK JUNGLE i”

Recruited by Aramaki, Kusanagi and her team begin their operations as the Public Security Section 9 (Ghost in the Shell). When a virus infiltrates the cyberbrain of the Foreign Minister’s interpreter, Aramaki senses a plot by the exiled Colonel Malès to disrupt a secret meeting. He orders Kusanagi and her unit to track down the perpetrator using traceback techniques.

 

■ Episode Visuals
As a special initiative, unique alternative design posters will be created and released for each episode of the anime. These visuals will capture the distinct concept and theme of each individual story. In tandem with the weekly broadcast and streaming schedule, this project will push the boundaries of traditional animation through innovative graphic design, offering a deeper, multi-faceted look into the complex world of the series.
