New Key Visual & PV Revealed for “THE GHOST IN THE SHELL”! Currently on display at the Bandai Namco Filmworks booth at AnimeJapan 2026.

Ever since Masamune Shirow published the original manga in Young Magazine Special Edition: Kaizokuban (Kodansha) back in 1989, the Ghost in the Shell series has continued to surprise and inspire the world. From Mamoru Oshii’s GHOST IN THE SHELL (1995) to various animated series and a Hollywood live-action film, the franchise has evolved into a diverse and influential body of work.
In conjunction with AnimeJapan 2026, one of the world’s largest anime events held at Tokyo Big Sight starting today, March 28 (Sat), we are proud to unveil the second key visual and the second promotional video (PV) for the latest TV anime series, THE GHOST IN THE SHELL.

The second key visual features the full-body prosthetic cyborg protagonist, Motoko Kusanagi, alongside the AI-equipped thinking tank, Fuchikoma. Illustrated by Shuhei Handa—the series’ character designer and chief animation director—this piece embodies the most iconic imagery of the franchise, rooted in the original manga.
The second PV consists of new footage from the series, offering a glimpse into the high-octane action and intense drama of the unique members of Public Security Section 9.
Both the new visual and PV are on display at the Bandai Namco Filmworks booth (East Hall 7, A22) during AnimeJapan 2026. The booth also features a special illustration of Motoko Kusanagi drawn by Shuhei Handa specifically for the event. Within the Ghost in the Shell: THE GHOST IN THE SHELL corner, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of the series with life-sized acrylic standees, world-premiere scene cuts, and production design sketches.
Furthermore, a Fuchikoma Meet & Greet will be held throughout the event period.
