“THE GHOST IN THE SHELL” Episode 05: Cast Details, Voice Actor Comments & Ending Card Unveiled!

We are pleased to reveal the cast information, cast comments, and end card for Episode 05, which began broadcasting and streaming on Tuesday, August 4.

““Ghost in the Shell”? I seem to remember playing an intensely mature woman at a studio in Shibuya a long time ago… (←Wait, that was a character from a completely different story! (lol))

“Dominion”? A character speaking in a Kansai dialect? Anna? Ah~ come to think of it, way, way back, I think I acted alongside Nina Kumagai. And for some reason, didn’t we even sing a character song… also in Kansai dialect? Ah, that’s right! Bit by bit, the memories came rushing back.

Then, I had a long-awaited reunion with Nina Kumagai at the studio. It was so nostalgic and wonderful! The voice recording itself was just a single scene, finishing in barely 20 minutes, so afterward Nina-san and I got completely absorbed chatting outside the studio (lol).

It was such a happy time, reminiscing about the exchange between Anna and Uni back then. Thank you so much! ☆”

““No way!? In Ghost in the Shell!? And as Unipuma, no less♡!?” When I first got the offer, I was completely shocked. Guess what the very first thing I did was? The correct answer: digging up my Dominion soundtrack CD and blasting ‘Kasegan-a-akan, Kibaran-a-akan’ to get myself totally hyped! (lol)

Then on the day of the voice recording, reuniting with Anna got me even more excited! We ended up having a blast talking about dogs (lol).

(Both Aya-san and I are huge dog lovers!)

Then came the test run, and then the actual recording! Alright!! It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scene, so be sure not to miss it!

What a true blessing to see my precious alter ego, Unipuma, loved across time! That’s only possible because it’s a work by Masamune Shirow of Ghost in the Shell!
