Illustrator, animator, and artist.
In addition to working as a video director, Mai Yoneyama has produced numerous striking works for commercials and music videos. Through her solo exhibitions, she actively explores new technologies and continually seeks to expand the possibilities of digital illustration.
After working at an animation studio, she began her career as an illustrator in 2018, creating artwork for book covers, advertising, and other media. She held her first solo exhibition SHE in 2019, followed by EGO in 2021. In 2023, her solo exhibition EYE at PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO featured layered works created by UV printing on acrylic panels, earning significant acclaim.
Yoneyama also participated in START ART FAIR 2021 at Saatchi Gallery in London. Her exhibited work, 00:00:00:00, is a collective piece composed of sixteen individual works, combining time-based and spatial art. The piece symbolizes her background as an illustrator with roots in animation, and her ongoing exploration of the relationship between movement, time, and visual expression.
