“THE GHOST IN THE SHELL” × GARRACK Fuchikoma Watch

  • Overview
  • An automatic mechanical watch featuring a dial adorned with a "Fuchikoma" from THE GHOST IN THE SHELL, crafted using Raden (mother-of-pearl inlay)—a traditional Japanese craft utilizing the iridescent nacre of shells.
This masterpiece is a true work of art, with each dial meticulously hand-finished by skilled artisans.
The watch's beating heart, the movement, is made in Japan, and the entire timepiece is assembled in Japan, making it a proud Made-in-Japan model.

    ■ Fuchikoma Model
The dial recreates the frontal view of the AI-equipped think tank, the "Fuchikoma," using exquisite Raden (mother-of-pearl) inlay.
An open-heart window is strategically positioned on its right arm, artfully representing the movement of its manipulator.
The hour and minute hands are inspired by the Fuchikoma’s arms, while the indices evoke its wheels. At the 12 o'clock position, the index takes its motif from the aperture blades inside its optical lens. The design is packed with subtle, intricate details that immerse you in the world of the series.

    ■ Raden (Mother-of-Pearl Inlay)
Raden is a traditional Japanese decorative technique where the shimmering, iridescent nacreous layer of shells, such as abalone, is shaved extremely thin and inlaid into a lacquer base. In Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, this technique has long been known as Aogai-nuri (blue-shell lacquerware) and has been preserved as a signature craft of Takaoka lacquerware.
Because mother-of-pearl is a natural material, the shells' inherent luster offers a truly unique, one-of-a-kind appearance.
Each dial of this timepiece is carefully hand-finished, one piece at a time, by traditional artisans using this Raden technique.

・Due to the natural characteristics of Raden, there will be individual variations in color and patterns, and the appearance will shift depending on how the light reflects.

・Because each dial is hand-applied by artisans, the pattern placement will vary from piece to piece.

・Please note that since this watch features a screw-down caseback, the orientation of the logo on the back may differ from the photo.
