“The Laughing Man Mark and Logo” Creative Contest [Overview]

In commemoration of the February 2024 “The Laughing Man Incident,” a “The Laughing Man Mark and Logo” creative contest will be held from February 3 (Saturday) to February 29 (Thursday).

 

The “Laughing Man Mark Limited Version Logo,” which can be downloaded from the special website, will be available for free-form submissions of illustrations, photos, videos, etc. The work selected by the GHOST IN THE SHELL Production Committee will receive a special prize.

 

We are looking forward to seeing your original “The Laughing Man Incident.”

1) Create a work using the “Laughing Man Mark Limited Version Logo
2) Follow the official “Ghost in the Shell [Official]” X account (@thegitsofficial)
3) Post your work with the hashtag “#笑い男創作犯” or “#thelaughingmancreative”
※In principle, the use of images or videos from the Ghost in the Shell series, with the exception of the “Laughing Man Mark Limited ver. logo,” is prohibited.

・Application period: February 3 to February 29, 2024 (tentative)
・Selection period: Scheduled to be from March 1 to March 15, 2024
※Selection will be made by the GHOST IN THE SHELL Production Committee.
・Announcement of results: Scheduled for March 18, 2024 or later.
・Entries: Entries must use the “Laughing Man Mark Limited Version Logo” that can be downloaded from the special site. However, the work must not violate the terms and conditions of the application.
・Eligibility: No age, gender, professional or amateur.
・How to apply: The following two items are required
1) Follow the official “Ghost in the Shell [Official]” X account (@thegitsofficial)
2) Post your entry with the hashtag “#笑い男創作犯” or “#thelaughingmancreative”
・Note: You can submit as many entries as you like:
One person may submit as many entries as they wish, but only one account per person is allowed.
Private accounts are not eligible.
The copyright of the applicant’s work belongs to the Ghost in the Shell Production Committee. The copyrights of the entrant’s works belong to the Ghost in the Shell Production Committee and the moral rights of the entrant shall not be exercised.

Entries that meet any of the following criteria will not be considered for judging. We will also refrain from publishing them on this site.

・Designs that infringe on intellectual property rights (including copyrights), honor, trust, privacy, etc., or that infringe on the rights or efforts of others, such as the appropriation of designs drawn by others, including those in the Ghost in the Shell series.

・Designs that are obscene, cruel, discriminatory, or otherwise offensive to third parties.

・Items that are offensive to public order and morals.

・Any work that the Company deems inappropriate for publication.

・Any work that contains omissions or errors in the required information, or that is not in accordance with the specifications.

・Entries that are deemed inappropriate by the Company.

 

Entrants agree that their entries will be posted on the Company’s official SNS accounts, website, and related media, and that they will not object to the Company’s use of their entries.

We will not individually inform entrants of the results of the judging process, except for contacting the winners of the prizes.

Please be advised that we will collect the personal information of the entrants and that we will use such personal information for the purpose of organizing this competition. The personal information will be used only for the purpose of contacting entrants and sending prizes. We will not provide or disclose personal information to any third party without the entrant’s consent, except in cases where we are requested to do so by judicial, administrative, or similar authorities in accordance with laws and regulations.

 

This project may be postponed or cancelled due to any unforeseen event.

We will not be liable for any damages, direct or indirect, caused by participation or inability to participate in this contest. (This includes the content of any statements made by the entrant on X, including tweets about this contest, any problems related to such statements, and any disputes between the entrant and any other third party.)

 

The Company shall not be liable for any costs incurred by the entrant in submitting his/her work.

Once a tweet has been posted on X, deleting it will disqualify it from the selection process.

Winning rights are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Entries for the purpose of reselling the prizes in each category are strictly prohibited.

Entries and winners may be voided if there is any unclear information in the entry, if we fail to contact you after you have been selected, or if we find that you have violated any of the terms and conditions of this contest. Please understand this in advance.

By submitting images or artwork in accordance with the “How to Enter” section, you agree that you understand and accept the terms and conditions of this contest, and that you will participate in this contest at your own risk and expense.
