Pre-Broadcast Hype Show “THE GHOST IN THE SHELL: Pre-Broadcast Top-Secret Cyber-Special” and Mini-Program “Ghost PR Squad” Confirmed to Air!
Ahead of the highly anticipated terrestrial broadcast, a special pre-broadcast promotional program titled “THE GHOST IN THE SHELL: Pre-Broadcast Top-Secret Cyber-Special” has been confirmed.
The special will air one week prior to the main series premiere, on Friday, July 3, from 25:20 to 25:50 JST on Kansai Television (KTV) as a Kansai local broadcast, with scheduled airings in other regions at varying times. The show features Yuki Iwai (from the comedy duo Haraichi), an avowed fan of the franchise, alongside Moga Mogami, whose deep love for the original manga and previous series is well known. Additionally, Haruka Ishida joins the lineup to provide a fresh, newcomer’s perspective for those experiencing Ghost in the Shell for the very first time.
Designed as a perfect entry point for beginners, the special will introduce the original manga as well as past films and series. It will also feature exclusive video segments packed with rare interviews from the creative staff behind the new anime, alongside a fun quiz segment featuring the franchise’s iconic mascot character, Fuchikoma.
Furthermore, a weekly mini-program titled “Ghost PR Squad” will launch on Sunday, July 5, at 11:45 JST (airing every Sunday as a Kansai local broadcast) to keep the momentum going throughout the season. Each 5-minute episode will review the previous week’s broadcast, highlight what to look forward to in the next chapter, and introduce key lore and universe-building concepts that will make viewers want to dive deeper into the main story.
The mini-program will also star Ghost in the Shell enthusiast Yuki Iwai (Haraichi), alongside Maki Fukuda (from the comedy trio 3時のヒロイン / 3 O’Clock Heroine), who enters the world of Ghost in the Shell as a curious beginner eager to learn more about the new series.
