“Ghost in the Shell M.M.A. – Messed Mesh Ambitions_” the third feature is published

The media project “Ghost in the Shell M.M.A. – Messed Mesh Ambitions_” is designed to contemplate and discuss various subjects facing contemporary society while actively continuing the many pioneering “questions” posed by the “Ghost in the Shell” series.

The theme of the third issue is “Boundaries.” It is supervised by the legal philosopher Takehiro Ohya, who has been discussing the evolution of technology and the transformation of society together.

The various boundaries that make up modern society are now being violently shaken…the boundaries between the state and corporations, war and peace, the military and police, humans and machines, the public domain and the private domain ……. Such fluctuations in the boundaries have been confronted by the “Ghost in the Shell” series, Public Security Section 9, and Motoko Kusanagi. For example, the “the Puppeteer” says that the seemingly unstable fluctuation of the social system is what prevents the catastrophe caused by rigidity. On the other hand, Public Security Section 9 is charged with the mission of eliminating those who would disrupt order. Motoko Kusanagi, who is at the mercy of the story, is troubled by technology, which distorts the boundaries between herself and others, and wonders where her “ghost” is.

The real world, which is under pressure to change with the development of information technology, and the issues that have been pioneered in the world of artworks. By overlapping the two, this special issue explores the fluctuation of the boundary line and its future.
